SportMe, a site we previously featured on STN, won 1st place in the Global Open Web Awards for best Sports and Fitness Website. The Awards were sponsored by Mashable, the world’s largest blog on social networking and Cohn & Wolfe, a world renowned PR firm.
In the first round qualifiers SportMe defeated companies such as world famous ESPN.com. In the finals Sportme took an early lead and gave no winning chance to the two other finalists; SportSnipe.com and ArmChairGM. Ultimately, SportMe triumphed with a 72% controlling lead to capture the top position.
“SportMe is honored and delighted to accept this award and its international recognition. We never thought we would receive such positive feedback from users in so many other countries and we are thankful for their support,” said Dani Warshager, founder and COO of sportme.org.
